Abstract

The study is about the emerging field of behavioural finance
relating to the stock market The failure of the rational
models led to the development of the behavioural finance
to explain the events of a stock market. Behavioural finance
is a field “ where the theory of human psychology combines
with the financial theories to predict the market behaviour”.
In this paper, the analysis has been carried out after
collecting data from the Scopus, Google Scholar, EBSCO,
etc., which has a database containing abstracts and citations
for journal articles. There are descriptive analyses from the
existing database to do graphical analysis, trend analysis,
and to find out the correlation among the number of works
of various fields on year to year basis. The analyses have
been carried out on various dimensions like author, year,
country and institution. The main finding is that the
importance of Behavioural finance has been consistently
increasing with stock bubble burst of 2008. Afterwards the
research in finance in general has been decreasing, while the
research in the field of stock market with relation to
Behavioural finance has been increasing. This work would
help the academic fraternity and scholars in identifying the
developments in the area of behavioural finance with
relation to stock market.
