Peer Review Process

The Sankalpa: International Journal of Management Decisions follows a rigorous, transparent, and ethically grounded peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, under which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process to eliminate bias and ensure impartial evaluation.

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening by the Editorial Office to assess its alignment with the journal’s scope, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these preliminary requirements may be desk-rejected at this stage, with constructive feedback provided where appropriate.

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are then assigned to independent expert reviewers with subject-matter expertise relevant to the manuscript. Reviewers evaluate the submission based on clearly defined criteria, including the significance of the research problem, originality and contribution to the field, methodological rigor, clarity of analysis, coherence of arguments, ethical considerations, and relevance to management and decision sciences.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor makes one of the following decisions: accept without revision, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit (major revisions), or reject. When revisions are requested, authors are required to submit a detailed, point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation to ensure that concerns have been adequately addressed.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor, who considers the reviewers’ recommendations and the overall scholarly merit of the manuscript. Throughout the process, the journal is committed to maintaining confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and upholding internationally accepted ethical standards in academic publishing.
